The financial markets are at a critical juncture following the latest Nonfarm Payrolls (NFP) report, which surpassed market expectations and highlighted continued labor market resilience. With the Consumer Price Index (CPI) data around the corner, traders and investors are closely analyzing whether this inflation data will force the Federal Reserve to hike interest rates or hold them steady.

If CPI numbers come in higher than expected, it could signal persistent inflationary pressures, increasing the probability of another rate hike by the Fed. A rate hike typically strengthens the US Dollar while putting pressure on risk assets, including equities and gold. Conversely, if inflation shows signs of cooling, the Fed may choose to hold rates, providing relief to global markets.

From a market sentiment perspective, I am currently taking a cautiously bullish stance on Gold (XAU) while remaining watchful on equities. Gold often acts as a reliable hedge during macroeconomic uncertainty, especially when inflation dynamics remain volatile.

What is your take on the market? Do you expect the Fed to hike or hold?
