$TIA has recovered sharply, but the more important story isn't the 23.7% 30-day rebound.
It's whether Celestia can finally turn network usage into meaningful value capture for the token.
TIA is around $0.41, with roughly 966M tokens circulating and an estimated $398M market cap. The contrast is striking: TIA is still about 98% below its $20.85 ATH, while current protocol fees remain extremely small relative to that valuation.
That exposes the core issue with the old Celestia thesis.
TIA is already required to pay for blobspace, and staking secures the network. But cheap data availability is a double-edged sword: adoption can grow without creating much fee revenue for the token.
Now comes the interesting part.
A July 2026 Celestia forum package proposes a new economic layer: protocol-enforced blob fees, partial TIA burning, TIA-backed capacity reservations, bonded data services, and eventually revenue-responsive validator issuance. The proposed framework targets 50% fee burn, 40% validator distribution and 10% community-pool allocation. None of this should be treated as activated yet—the package is still a proposal requiring implementation, testing and subsequent governance.
Meanwhile, TIA still faces supply pressure. About 10.7M TIA is scheduled to unlock on September 30, roughly 1.1% of genesis supply.
So the real question isn't whether TIA can bounce from here.
It's whether Celestia can move from “cheap DA infrastructure” toward an economy where growing usage actually creates persistent TIA demand and reduces reliance on inflation.
