Shein Reportedly Sets Hong Kong IPO Price at HK$48.56
Shein is reportedly set to price its Hong Kong initial public offering (IPO) at HK$48.56 per share, close to the midpoint of its marketed range of HK$47.60 to HK$49.50, according to people familiar with the matter.
At that price, the fast-fashion retailer is expected to raise approximately HK$13.6 billion ($1.73 billion), giving the company a valuation of around $26.5 billion.
The valuation represents a substantial decline from Shein's nearly $100 billion private-market peak in 2022 and is also well below the $66 billion valuation achieved in a 2023 fundraising round.
Shein, which is headquartered in Singapore and was founded in China, has spent several years pursuing a public listing. Earlier plans for listings in New York and London faced regulatory and political obstacles, eventually leading the company toward Hong Kong.
The IPO is expected to be closely watched by global investors because it represents one of Hong Kong's major recent listings and provides a public-market test of Shein's valuation amid slowing growth, regulatory scrutiny and increasing competition.
If finalized at HK$48.56, the offering would mark an important milestone for Shein while also highlighting how significantly investor expectations for the company have changed from its peak private valuation.$GOOGL.US $AAPLB
