Dusk Trade caught my attention because it goes beyond the usual “put real-world assets on-chain” narrative.
Tokenization is only the first step. The harder question is what happens after an asset becomes a token. Can investors actually trade it through a regulated venue, with credible infrastructure behind the market?
That is where the Dusk Trade and NPEX connection becomes interesting.
NPEX is a licensed exchange with around €300M in assets under management, giving this initiative a connection to an established financial environment rather than relying purely on a crypto-native marketplace. Dusk, meanwhile, brings the on-chain infrastructure needed to represent and move tokenized assets.
The interesting part is the potential combination: regulated markets on one side and blockchain-based settlement on the other.
If Dusk Trade can bring tokenized funds and other assets into an environment where they can be issued, traded and eventually settled efficiently, the value proposition becomes much bigger than simply creating another RWA token.
For me, the key metric to watch will not be the number of assets tokenized.
It will be actual market activity.
How many investors participate? How much trading volume develops? Do tokenized funds gain repeat demand? And can liquidity remain healthy after the initial launch excitement disappears?
That is where Dusk Trade could prove whether RWAs are becoming real markets—or simply becoming tokens with a new label.
