Guys, this is a pretty big development for blockchain adoption.
39 U.S. state banking associations have joined the BankChain Alliance, with plans to launch their own nationwide blockchain network by 2027.
The goal is to build a blockchain network that is:
• Owned and governed by the banking industry
• Designed for regulated financial institutions
• Compatible with other blockchain networks
• Focused on smart payments, tokenized deposits and stablecoins
The alliance represents thousands of banks across the U.S. and is still looking for a technology partner to actually build the network.
What’s interesting is that traditional banks are increasingly moving toward blockchain technology instead of treating it purely as competition.
And this comes after major financial networks like SWIFT also started exploring tokenized digital assets.
If this continues, blockchain adoption by traditional finance could become much bigger over the next few years. 🚀
Do you think bank-run blockchains will be bullish for crypto, or will banks build their own systems completely separate from public crypto networks? 👇
