Dusk started with 500 million DUSK, while another 500 million DUSK is scheduled to enter circulation through emissions. What caught my attention is the emission rate, which is designed to fall by 50% every four years. That gives the supply schedule a clear long-term direction instead of keeping issuance at the same pace forever.

The first emission period accounts for roughly 250.5 million DUSK, while the following period drops to around 125.2 million DUSK. On paper, that may look like a simple tokenomics detail, but it becomes more interesting if network usage grows while new supply keeps declining.

There is also the timing. Dusk’s mainnet rollout began in December 2024, with Hyperstaking introduced in March 2025. That means the current economic model is still relatively young, and there is plenty of time for real usage to show whether the declining emission schedule actually matters.

I’m not looking at these numbers as a guarantee of anything. Token supply alone doesn’t create demand. What matters is what happens when real users, applications, staking activity, and network usage start growing alongside that changing issuance. For me, that is the part worth watching.
