Hedger solves a problem that gets overlooked when people talk about bringing Solidity applications into a privacy focused chain.
A normal EVM developer already has a familiar mental model: contracts read state, execute logic and produce a result. Adding confidential data can easily turn that simple workflow into something much harder to build.
Dusk is trying to avoid that by putting Hedger on DuskEVM,giving Solidity applications a route to confidential workflows while DuskDS remains underneath for settlement and data availability.
The interesting trade-off is developer familiarity versus privacy complexity. It’s easy to say “Dusk is EVM compatible,” but compatibility only matters if developers can actually use the privacy capabilities without rebuilding their entire application around Dusk-specific assumptions.
That is probably the part I’d want the @Dusk team to demonstrate more clearly: take one realistic financial contract and show exactly where the confidential logic enters the Solidity workflow, what remains visible, and what an authorized party can later verify.
A working example would tell developers much more than another explanation of Hedger’s underlying cryptography.
The technology is there, but the developer experience will decide whether it becomes something people actually build around?
