Why does a blockchain’s fee model matter beyond simply paying for transactions?

On @Dusk , $DUSK is used to pay gas for transactions and on-chain execution. But the design goes deeper:

• Fees are calculated from gas actually used × gas price, so unused gas isn’t charged.

• Gas prices are set in LUX, the smallest unit of DUSK. 1 DUSK equals 1 billion LUX.

• Transaction fees become part of block rewards, connecting network activity with the economics that support Dusk’s consensus.

This matters for a network focused on regulated finance, tokenization and settlement. Predictable, transparent execution costs are part of building infrastructure that applications can actually rely on.

For me, gas isn’t just a user cost—it’s part of the network’s economic design.
