No funds lost, they say, and probably true. But "temporarily paused" now reads more like "paused until further notice."

The reality I watched play out is a small centralized team quietly disabling addresses and gating recipients on its own judgment call, with zero on-chain vote or public tally attached to that decision. Not a criticism exactly — it's probably the responsible move — just… not what "decentralized settlement" sounds like on paper.
Meanwhile staking and consensus on DuskDS never blinked, kept humming through the whole thing. So the protocol layer stayed trustless while the bridge layer stayed very much in human hands.
