National Technology chairman Sun Yingtong said MCU demand could surge as AI moves from data centers into robots, drones and other physical AI devices, with the company already supplying MCUs to some robotics customers, according to Jiemian News. He said the market is showing structural tightness, not a full shortage, and noted that National Technology raised prices on some chips by 15% to 20% in April and announced another 10% to 20% increase effective October 1. Sun said the company has sold billions of MCUs so far and is aiming for tens of billions in the future.
National Technology reported net profit of 4.4149 million yuan in the first half of 2026, compared with a net loss of about 36.8 million yuan a year earlier, and said sales volume, revenue and gross profit all rose year on year in its integrated circuits and key components business. Sun said the company’s products are now used in power systems and fans for computing centers, robot joints, drone motor control and optical modules, and that its N32H series MCU has entered some Honor products for joint and motion control. He also said National Technology is developing an end-side AI controller alongside its physical-AI MCU products.
