TPS, users, developer counts, ecosystem maps — I've seen the same arguments recycled so many times that they barely mean much anymore.
What caught my attention with Dusk is a different problem: what happens when the asset moving on-chain is a security or fund position that needs privacy, control and settlement everyone can actually verify?
Dusk approaches that at the transaction layer. Moonlight is public and account-based. Phoenix uses shielded notes and ZK proofs, with viewing keys for selective disclosure. Yet both settle through DuskDS, while the Transfer Contract routes each payload to the right verification logic.
That feels more relevant to me than another promise of speed. Tokenisation keeps running into the same friction: financial assets need ownership rules, controlled disclosure and reliable settlement, not just a wrapper.
I'm still not sure Dusk has proved this. DuskEVM gives developers the familiar Solidity route; DuskVM offers Rust/WASM directly on L1. Good architectures can still lose to familiar tooling. I've seen that happen before.
So I'm watching quietly. The question isn't whether Dusk can move tokens quickly. It's whether financial assets can actually live on-chain without forcing privacy, compliance and settlement into separate systems.
