President Trump is pushing IndyCar to hold an annual race in Washington, DC for at least the next five years, according to IndyCar executive Bud Denker.

Denker said Trump contacted him 15 times in one day about the proposal. Trump reportedly told him: "Let's do it for 5 years because that guarantees you're gonna be here through my term, and then 2 more years for whoever is in office next."

The move would lock in a DC race through Trump's presidency and into the following administration. No formal agreement has been announced yet.
