Spent the CreatorPad task poking around DuskEVM's tooling — Solidity, Hardhat, Blockscout verification, the whole familiar EVM stack $DUSK is leaning on. #dusk @Dusk . Honestly the dev-side stuff just... works. Deploy, verify, done. No new mental model required.
But here's what actually stopped my scroll — the bridge has been sitting paused since August 16, after the team caught suspicious activity tied to a bridge-managed wallet. Addresses got disabled and recycled, a Web Wallet blocklist went up, Binance got looped in on the flow. No user funds lost, they say, and I believe it. Still closed though. A week later.
So while builders get frictionless contract deployment on day one, the actual rail for moving real value in and out is the part parked in "security review" limbo — right as DuskEVM is supposed to be scaling toward mainnet. Tooling shipped fast. Trust infrastructure is moving slower, on purpose it seems. Makes sense for a privacy/compliance-first chain, hmm — maybe that's the actual design philosophy, not a delay. Ship the dev experience first, take your time with anything touching real capital.
Still kind of telling who gets the smooth path immediately, and who's stuck reading "update coming soon." Wonder how many builders even notice the bridge is down before they hit it themselves.
