Monday, August 24 — New York Session Scalping Plan
For Monday, I would not treat the levels as guaranteed entries. Gold finished Friday near a three-month high around $4,623.94, while silver closed around $69.62; both had strong weekly momentum. That means the New York session can offer excellent continuation trades, but also sharp profit-taking.
Also, Monday's U.S. calendar is relatively quiet, with the heavier U.S. data concentrated later in the week.
New York session timing
For Pakistan time, use your broker's server clock, but approximately:
NY pre-open: 5:00–6:30 PM PKT
New York cash/open volatility: around 6:30 PM PKT
Main scalping window: 6:30–9:00 PM PKT
Late NY: 9:00–10:30 PM PKT
Because broker/server times vary, confirm the exact NY open on your platform.
🟡 XAU/USD — New York 5M + 15M Plan
Key levels
Gold's move above its 200-day average near $4,513 remains an important bullish structural signal.
🟢 NY Setup #1 — Breakout Long
15M confirmation → 5M execution
Entry
Buy: 4,635–4,642
BUT only after:
15M candle closes above 4,632
Price comes back to retest 4,632–4,635
5M candle rejects the zone bullishly
Enter after the 5M confirmation candle closes

At TP1:
Close 30–40%
Move SL toward breakeven only after price has demonstrated continuation.

This is my preferred setup if the breakout doesn't happen immediately.

Wait for the price to reach this area.
Then switch to 5M.
Look for:
sweep low → bullish rejection → higher low → break of previous 5M high

Silver is the higher-volatility instrument.
Friday's spot silver price reached roughly $69.62, and silver has been moving strongly alongside gold and dollar weakness.

Wait for a 15M close above $70.05.
Then wait for the 5M retest.

This is the most important part.
15-minute chart = direction
Use it to identify:
HH + HL = bullish
LH + LL = bearish
5-minute chart = entry
After the 15M establishes direction:
Level touched → liquidity sweep → 5M reversal → structure break → entry
Don't use the 5M chart to randomly predict the market.
📌 Example: Gold Long
Imagine NY opens and gold falls:
4,625 → 4,595 → 4,582
The 5M chart then creates:
lower low → rejection wick → bullish engulfing → higher low
Then price breaks the previous 5M high.
That is your trigger.
Entry: ~4,590
SL: 4,568
TP1: 4,615
TP2: 4,632
TP3: 4,655
That's considerably better than buying at 4,625 simply because the daily trend is bullish.

Silver reaches:
70.10
5M candle spikes to:
70.25
but closes around:
69.85
Next candle fails to recover 70.
Then the previous 5M low breaks.
That's your short confirmation.

💰 Risk Management
For scalping, I would use:
0.25–0.5% account risk per trade
rather than risking 2–5% on each setup.
And importantly:
Maximum
2 losing trades → stop for the session.
Don't increase lot size after a loss.
Maximum trades
2–3 quality trades per instrument
is plenty.
You don't need to trade every movement.
🚨 Monday's Biggest Trap
Because gold and silver have just experienced a strong rally, FOMO is your biggest enemy.
Reuters reported gold gained more than 5% during the week and reached a three-month high, while silver also gained strongly.
So Monday can produce this:
Asian/London rally → NY liquidity grab → sharp retracement → continuation
or:
NY breakout → retest → massive continuation
Your job isn't to predict which one happens.
Your job is to wait until the chart tells you.
