😳 A crypto whale just got drained of $25.6 million. Using the exact same phishing trick that stole $24 million from him two years ago.
Same attack. Same person. Two years apart. A handful of major tokens quietly swapped out before he even noticed.
And he's not the only one this week. A popular hardware wallet brand, the kind of "cold storage" everyone assumes is the safe option, just got exploited for over $116M across thousands of addresses. Total losses from hacks this week are already past $37M.
Here's the part that gets me. This guy had $24M stolen once already, and he still fell for the same setup again. Having a bigger wallet clearly doesn't mean better habits.
The fix takes like two minutes and most people never do it: go check what token approvals are still active on your wallet, and revoke the old ones. And just don't sign a transaction if you don't fully understand what it's doing, even if the site looks legit.
Real talk, have you ever actually checked your wallet approvals? 👇
Not financial advice. DYOR. Stay safe out there.
