A few years ago, I thought lending was simple: lend capital, earn interest, and wait for repayment. Reality taught me that the biggest risk isn't always the interest rate—it's whether the agreement holds.

That's why I've become interested in protocols exploring fixed-rate DeFi.

What caught my attention about TermMax isn't just the APR or TVL. It's the idea of treating debt as an on-chain financial primitive rather than a static loan.

Instead of locking capital into a single fixed-term position, the protocol introduces components that make debt more flexible and potentially tradable. Combined with interest-rate-based liquidity, it presents a different way of thinking about lending markets.

Of course, technology alone doesn't guarantee success. Liquidity, adoption, and execution will ultimately determine whether this model scales. But I find it encouraging to see builders experimenting with financial infrastructure instead of simply launching another yield farm.

The future of DeFi may not be about chasing the highest APY—it may be about creating more efficient, transparent, and programmable credit markets.

I'm looking forward to seeing how fixed-rate lending evolves over the next few years.

What do you think is the biggest missing piece in today's DeFi lending ecosystem?
