#dusk $DUSK @Dusk I’ve spent enough time around crypto to notice that “privacy” often gets reduced to one simple idea: hide the information and call it solved. That’s what made me look closer at @Dusk . The interesting problem is harder: what happens when a financial transaction needs to stay private, but the transaction still needs to be proven valid under the network’s rules? That’s where Phoenix caught my attention. Instead of simply exposing the transaction details, its model uses zero-knowledge proofs to let the network verify that the transaction followed the network’s rules without requiring all of the underlying information to be revealed. But privacy doesn’t remove verification. It changes what needs to be disclosed and what can instead be proven. And I think that distinction matters more than the word “privacy” itself. For regulated financial markets, the challenge isn’t making everything invisible. It’s finding a way to keep sensitive information confidential while still proving that the required rules were followed. That is the balance Dusk is trying to build into the protocol. The real test, for me, is whether this balance between privacy and verifiability actually reduces friction when regulated assets start moving onchain at scale.
