Ethereum ripped from roughly $1,902 to $2,326, before cooling to around $2,251—still up 18% in 24 hours. Lower Treasury yields and a weaker dollar gave crypto the green light, while Bitcoin’s rally added fuel. Then short liquidations kicked in, turning bearish bets into involuntary ETH purchases. Ouch.

Wall Street is joining the party. U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs attracted roughly $71.5 million on Aug. 18, led by BlackRock’s fund, adding institutional firepower to the rally. Large corporate holders such as Bitmine are also accumulating ETH, suggesting this isn’t purely a retail sugar rush.
