I looked at Dusk again because privacy infrastructure is becoming one of the most interesting narratives in crypto, but I wanted to look beyond the story and focus on what the network is actually building.
DUSK is trading around the $0.07 range, with a market cap around the $40M level, roughly 600M tokens circulating, and a maximum supply of 1B. The token is still more than 90% below its 2021 peak near $1.09, showing how far it remains from previous market expectations.
What caught my attention is that Dusk is not trying to become another general-purpose blockchain. Its focus is much narrower: regulated finance, confidential smart contracts, zero-knowledge privacy, and tokenized assets where institutions may need both compliance and confidentiality.
The part I keep coming back to is the gap between strong infrastructure and real usage. The technology looks impressive, the network is live, and development continues — but the bigger question is whether this translates into meaningful applications, consistent demand, and a growing ecosystem.
The token model also deserves attention. DUSK has network utility through operations and staking, but long-term value depends on whether real users of private financial applications create sustainable demand for the token.
Privacy could become a major requirement in finance, but the unanswered question remains: will Dusk become the network where that demand actually happens?
