Imagine you've borrowed through TermMax and part of the position's economics is represented by a Yield Token or XT.

Now you need additional liquidity before the position reaches maturity.

What can you actually do with that XT?

TermMax separates the yield component from the rest of the debt structure giving the borrower something that can be sold independently.

That means the borrower can sell the XT to obtain liquidity instead of treating the entire debt position as one indivisible piece.

The practical difference is important.

The borrower doesn't necessarily need to wait for the whole position to mature before finding a way to extract value from this component. XT gives the yield side its own form, which can participate in a market independently.

The reason XT matters goes beyond introducing another token.

For a borrower it creates an additional route to liquidity by making the yield component itself transferable and sellable.
