poked around Dusk's stack page after their Aug 15 news drop on SME tokenization… and hold up — what actually stopped my scroll wasn't the article, it was the status labels sitting right above it.
Dusk L1 says "Live." DuskEVM says "Testnet." Hedger says "Testnet." Dusk Trade — the actual app layer where a tokenized asset gets onboarded, transferred, settled — says "Building." $DUSK #dusk @Dusk
So the settlement layer is real, staked past 210M DUSK, deterministic finality humming along at ~10s. But the layer where a regulated asset actually becomes something you can trade is still not shipped. NPEX shows 20,000+ investors and north of €200M confirmed issuance — numbers that get repeated everywhere — yet all of that sits on rails whose consumer-facing market layer hasn't left "Building."
Kinda matches a pattern I've noticed across a few RWA chains now… the base layer gets finished first because that's what compliance teams sign off on, and the actual trading experience trails behind, waitlist and all. Makes sense operationally. Still, the gap between "settlement is deterministic" and "you can actually trade the asset" is bigger than the homepage lets on.
Not knocking the architecture, it's genuinely well laid out. Just — who's using this today versus who's promised it next quarter are two different lists.
Wondering how long "Building" stays an honest label before it quietly becomes the permanent state of the roadmap.
