Spent my task time in Dusk's testnet explorer and almost scrolled past the thing that actually mattered — not a settlement figure, not an RWA headline. Just a tweet.
@Dusk posted Aug 10 that DuskEVM testnet is live — Solidity and Hardhat both work now. Checked the repo out of habit, duskevm-genesis was still taking commits Aug 7 and 8, right up against the announcement. #dusk $DUSK
Here's what actually stuck with me. All the messaging around Dusk points at regulated markets — NPEX, tokenized securities, settlement rails. But what shipped this week is developer plumbing. Solidity devs get access today. The institutions everyone keeps citing get their rails "eventually," still. Standard sequencing honestly, infra before adoption, but there's something different about watching it happen in a commit log instead of a slide deck.
I'll admit I assumed testnet meant something closer to real usage than it did. Had to double check. Small slip, kind of telling one though.
So — who's actually first in line here. The devs kicking tires on Solidity compatibility, or the regulated venues everyone keeps pointing to as the "real" use case. Guessing we find out in a few months, not this week.
