According to the BBC, a French father and his two sons were rescued after spending more than 16 hours stranded at sea when their rented jet ski capsized off the coast of Thailand. Local official Amorn Chomchoey told AFP that the 50-year-old father and boys aged five and seven were pale and exhausted after swallowing seawater, and all three were taken to hospital for checks before being discharged. The jet ski had been rented for a 45-minute ride on Koh Samui at about 17:00 local time on Thursday, and rescuers were alerted when it was not returned. Search teams used speedboats and other jet skis to look around Koh Samui and toward Koh Phangan before finding the family drifting at about 10:00 local time on Friday. The father said rough waves hit the jet ski and stopped the engine near the end of the rental period, while the family has remained in Thailand and continued its holiday, officials said.
