One lesson I've learned from watching financial infrastructure evolve is that good architecture solves today's problems, but great architecture anticipates tomorrow's ones. That's the lens I keep applying to DUSK.

Yesterday, I focused on whether regulated finance actually needs a different blockchain model. Today, I'm thinking about what happens after institutions arrive. Privacy alone won't be enough. Systems also need consistency, accountability, and the confidence that confidential financial activity can operate without creating new layers of uncertainty.

That's why I don't see DUSK as simply another privacy-focused network. Its emphasis on confidential smart contracts for financial applications suggests it's trying to address how regulated markets might function—not just how transactions are processed. For me, that's a far more demanding objective than competing on performance metrics.

I'm still cautious because infrastructure earns credibility through adoption, not ambition. But projects that start by solving structural financial problems usually keep my attention longer than projects built around market narratives.
