I keep noticing something odd whenever Dusk comes up in conversation: everyone wants to talk about the token price, and almost nobody wants to talk about what's actually settling on the chain. That inversion bothers me, because it suggests the market is grading Dusk on the wrong exam entirely.
Most participants treat privacy coins as a single bucket Monero, Zcash, and by lazy association, Dusk. But Dusk isn't optimizing for untraceability. It's optimizing for selective disclosure: transactions that stay opaque to the public while remaining auditable to regulators. That's a completely different product built for a completely different buyer institutions, not individuals hiding balances.
So when people track DUSK's price against "privacy coin sentiment," they're benchmarking against the wrong cohort. The metric that actually matters is adoption by regulated venues licensed exchanges, tokenized securities, custodians willing to touch onchain infrastructure. That's a slower, less visible signal than price charts, which is probably exactly why it's underpriced.
I don't know if that gap closes. But I'm curious whether the market ever learns to watch infrastructure adoption before it watches candles.
