Dusk made me rethink what “transparency” should actually mean in finance.
The more I read about Dusk, the more I realized that financial privacy isn't simply about hiding information. It is about controlling who can see what, and when.
Dusk is a Layer-1 blockchain built with financial applications in mind, using its Confidential Security Contract (XSC) standard to support confidential smart contracts. Its approach combines privacy with verifiability, including zero-knowledge technology that can help prove something is valid without exposing every sensitive detail.
That matters because real finance has never worked on an “everyone sees everything” model. A business may need privacy from the public while remaining accountable to regulators. An investor may need to prove eligibility without revealing their entire financial identity.
But I don't think the technology alone solves everything. Adoption, governance, regulation, developer activity and real-world demand still matter.
What interests me most is the problem Dusk is trying to solve: can financial systems be private enough to protect people, while remaining transparent enough to be trusted?
I don't know the final answer yet, but I think that is the right question.
