According to CNBC, Ukraine launched a heavy drone assault on Russian warships and major grain export terminals in the Black Sea port city of Novorossiysk, prompting Moscow to warn of possible disruption to global food supplies. Regional governor Veniamin Kondratyev said three people were killed, including an eight-year-old child, and 24 others were injured. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy described the operation as a success and said Kyiv used a mix of long-range drones and weapons against Russian fleet vessels in the bay area of the city. He said Russia's Admiral Essen and Admiral Makarov frigates, a large landing ship, a corvette and other vessels were struck, while Russia's Agriculture Ministry said it was seeking to redirect cargo flows to ports in the Baltic and Caspian Seas as well as overland routes. Russian grain trading companies also reported damage, and agricultural consultancy SovEcon said Russia appeared on track to export 3 million to 3.4 million metric tons of wheat in August, below the five-year average of 5 million tons.
