According to CNBC, Verizon was dealing with a service outage late Saturday afternoon that affected several thousand customers in the U.S., with complaints peaking at more than 13,000 around 3:30 p.m. ET, according to Downdetector. The largest number of affected customers were in major metropolitan areas including New York, Los Angeles and Boston. Verizon said it was making progress on an issue affecting voice services for some wireless customers and advised impacted customers to restart their devices. The company did not give a reason for the outage. Downdetector also showed that the disruption affected hundreds of customers on AT&T and T-Mobile US, whose calls could not get through.
