I’ve been thinking about Babylon lately, but not from the usual “BTC staking is huge” angle.
As someone who trades across different chains, the part that keeps bothering me is how fragmented everything still feels. You move liquidity, deal with slippage, get hit by MEV, watch a decent entry turn into a terrible fill, and sometimes it feels like the market is extracting value from you before the trade even settles.
That’s why Babylon’s idea is interesting to me. If BTC can stay self-custodied while helping secure PoS networks, maybe Bitcoin liquidity can become useful without forcing holders into the same messy bridge-and-wrap cycle.
But I’m still cautious. Better security doesn’t automatically fix bad execution, fragmented liquidity, or front-running. Those problems live deeper in the trading experience.
BABY could become an important piece of the infrastructure, or it could just add another layer people have to navigate. I’m watching how the system behaves when real capital starts moving through it not just what the narrative says.
