Babylon's staking explorer after the CreatorPad task and one number just sat there bugging me… 10.5B $BABY minted, only 20.29% actually bonded.

Not the low percentage that got me — it was realizing why. Docs promise "fast unbonding, ~2 days." Cute number.

But then you read the actual mechanism: BABY staking runs on epoched execution. your delegate/undelegate tx doesn't process the moment you sign it, it sits in a queue until the epoch closes, then gets batched atomically with everyone else's. So "2 days" is really "however long is left in the current epoch, plus the unbond window." Nobody submits at the exact start of an epoch by accident.

I'd assumed unbonding was a flat countdown like most Cosmos chains . no, it's queue-then-batch. Different animal. Makes total sense for security (deterministic voting power transitions, no mid-epoch flip-flopping) but it's not what the marketing copy implies to someone skimming fast.

How many of the 79.71% sitting unbonded are actually just... mistimed relative to epoch boundaries, not people choosing to stay liquid.
