#baby $BABY
Opened the BABY chart this morning expecting another quiet session. The price was hovering around $0.0116, market cap just under $47M, and 24-hour volume close to $6.7M. Nothing looked dramatic at first glance, but one ratio kept pulling my attention back: Babylon is securing billions of dollars worth of BTC, while the token itself is still valued at less than $50M.
I spent more time thinking about that gap than I did watching the candles. Usually the market rewards growth stories early, yet here the protocol and the token seem to be telling two different stories. The network keeps attracting Bitcoin because the staking model doesn't require users to give up custody, but that doesn't automatically mean the governance token gets repriced overnight.
Then I checked the calendar. The next scheduled BABY unlock is August 10, with another batch of tokens entering circulation. It's not necessarily bearish—markets often anticipate unlocks—but it does make me wonder how much new demand is needed to comfortably absorb additional supply if protocol adoption keeps growing at the same time.
I'm not trying to predict the next move. I'm more interested in whether the next few weeks show the protocol and the token finally moving in the same direction, or if that disconnect becomes an even bigger part of Babylon's story.
