Breaking news, SpaceX has secured a $1.6 billion contract from the U.S. Space Force to carry out 18 military satellite launch missions using Falcon 9.
These satellites are reportedly intended for detection, continuous tracking, and providing target data to combat systems.
If the contract amount is accurate, the average value per mission is about $89.9 million.
Moreover, SpaceX has previously won a $4.16 billion contract for a space-based target tracking system and a $2.29 billion contract for a military space data network. It is transforming from a pure rocket carrier into a full-chain defense contractor that controls satellite manufacturing, target sensing, military data transmission, and orbital launches.
$SPCX Awesome!
