If Bitcoin becomes the security layer, then BABY should gradually become less important.
The architecture kept pushing me in the opposite direction.
BTC doesn't replace BABY. BABY doesn't replace BTC. They reduce each other's blind spots.
Bitcoin brings external economic weight that most PoS networks can't create on their own. BABY brings governance, validator incentives, and the operational layer that Bitcoin was never designed to handle.
What caught my attention wasn't the separation itself.
It was the fact that Babylon never tries to merge these responsibilities into one asset.
Most crypto networks seem obsessed with making a single token carry every incentive, every security assumption, and every governance decision.
Babylon appears to be making a different bet.
Maybe security becomes more resilient when no single asset is responsible for everything.
If that's true, then the success of Babylon won't be measured by how much BTC gets staked.
It will be measured by whether two independent security layers become stronger because they're forced to cooperate instead of compete.
That's the part I don't see enough people talking about.
