Whenever I start learning a new blockchain platform, one challenge is understanding all the new terminology. Newton Protocol introduces concepts like Policy Engine, PolicyData, Data Oracles, Policy Packs, Verifiable Credentials, and PolicyClients, which can seem overwhelming at first.
After reading through the Newton Mainnet Beta documentation, I found that these terms are much easier to understand once you know how they work together.
Policies define authorization rules. The Policy Engine evaluates them. Data Oracles bring trusted external information into the decision-making process. Verifiable Credentials provide identity information, while Policy Packs help developers reuse common infrastructure.
Seeing these concepts explained in simple language made the overall Newton architecture much easier to follow.
For anyone beginning their journey with Newton, I think understanding these core terms first makes the rest of the documentation significantly easier to navigate.
