I like Midnight more the moment I look at the privacy side.
I like it less the moment I think about what it takes to keep that privacy running nonstop.
That’s the awkward part.
The architecture sounds built for serious use. Enterprise workflows. Private apps. AI agents doing actual work instead of just appearing in pitch decks. Fine. That all sounds ambitious in a good way.
But ambition gets expensive fast.
The NIGHT and DUST model looks clean on paper. Very organized. Very thought-through. But if the system only feels smooth when you’re holding enough capital to keep generating fuel in the background, then the real barrier is not technical anymore. It’s financial.
And that changes who gets to play comfortably.
A big company can call that infrastructure.
A smaller builder calls it a problem.
An always-on app calls it a constant headache.
That’s what I keep coming back to.
Midnight may be building private infrastructure for the future. Totally possible. The question is whether that future is open to builders in general, or mostly to the ones with enough balance sheet to keep the engine humming without blinking.
