🇨🇳🇮🇳 China and India Pledge Stronger Cooperation Ahead of BRICS Leadership Transition

On July 22, 2026, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar in Manila, reaffirming both countries’ commitment to improving bilateral ties and expanding cooperation.

During the meeting, Wang Yi stated that China is ready to work with India to maintain close high-level exchanges, deepen cooperation in trade, media, cultural, and people-to-people exchanges, and properly manage sensitive issues through dialogue and mutual respect. China further expressed its support for India in hosting a successful BRICS Summit this year.
