I used to believe that higher yields were simply a reward for taking on more risk in crypto.
But now I think the real challenge is not generating returns, but making capital efficient without sacrificing flexibility.
As blockchain ecosystems become more interconnected, users are expected to keep assets productive while remaining ready to move across opportunities at any moment.
The deeper issue is that liquidity and yield often compete with each other, forcing users into trade-offs that limit participation.
One possible solution is the rise of liquid restaking frameworks that attempt to unlock multiple sources of rewards without fully locking assets away.
However, there is a problem here: every additional layer designed to improve efficiency also increases systemic complexity.
When rewards depend on several interconnected mechanisms, understanding the true source of risk becomes significantly harder.
A disruption in one layer can quickly affect others, creating consequences that are not always obvious at first glance.
As these systems continue to evolve, are we building more efficient markets, or simply creating more sophisticated forms of hidden risk?
