Source: Pantera Capital Embracing TON in April, Telegram, with an impressive 900 million active users per month and 36.7 million downloads monthly, is now expected to offer further possibilities in the cryptocurrency and Web3 spaces, as highlighted by Pantera in their blog post. The robust structure of the TON blockchain provides performance and scalability that rivals top blockchains. Furthermore, its wallet presents high utility within a simplistic interface. Pantera also applauded the capacity for TON-based applications like StormTrade to facilitate user trading in perpetuals, cryptocurrencies, stocks, and equities via the same interface. In addition, Telegram plans to implement new monetization opportunities such as revenue sharing from ads, and tradable personalized items like phone numbers, usernames, and emojis. Highlighting TON's reunion with Telegram following a thwarted initial attempt due to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's intervention, Pantera viewed it as a notable accomplishment. Currently, it stands as the only significant messaging platform that has integrated Web3 after Messenger conceded its attempts to incorporate the Libra coin due to regulatory obstacles and WeChat's use of digital yuan remained limited in scope. With $5.2 billion worth of assets managed in four funds, Pantera announced a new $1 billion fund in April.
