šØ FBI CONFIRMS NORTH KOREA BEHIND $6.3 BILLION BINANCE HACK ā CRYPTO INDUSTRY FACES A MASSIVE SECURITY CRISIS
The cryptocurrency industry is facing one of the biggest security crises in its history after the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) officially attributed the massive $6.3 billion Binance hack to North Korea.
According to the FBI, North Korea was responsible for stealing more than $6 billion in digital assets from Binance on or around October 29, 2026. Investigators identified the hacking operation as the work of a North Korean-linked cybercrime group known as TraderTraitor.

The FBI says TraderTraitor was responsible for the attack and has warned cryptocurrency exchanges, blockchain services, and decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms to remain alert.
The same group was previously linked by the FBI to the massive $1.5 billion Bybit hack in February 2025.
Following the Binance attack, investigators observed hackers converting stolen assets primarily into Ethereum before attempting to move the funds through decentralized finance platforms and instant swap services.
The FBI has urged cryptocurrency platforms and financial service providers to identify and block transactions connected to the hackers' wallet addresses to prevent further laundering.
š° Binance Responds: Users Will Not Bear the Losses
Binance has reassured its global users that their funds will not be used to cover the financial damage caused by the attack.
The exchange says it has already covered approximately 90% of the stolen assets and will absorb the remaining financial impact rather than passing the losses to customers.
Binance has also been working to restore its services, with withdrawals expected to reopen on Sunday following the security incident.
