Ethereum just hit pause on Glamsterdam's next test. ๐Ÿ›‘

The Hoodi testnet fork set for Oct 26 is off, with no new date. Core devs (ACDE #248) want more time on how EIP-8037's new state-creation gas rules interact with contracts already live on mainnet.

Why it matters:
โ€ข Security researchers flagged that the gas changes could flip how some contracts handle failed calls
โ€ข Mainnet timing was being eyed for early December, and that now looks uncertain
โ€ข The EF says no action is needed from mainnet users or $ETH holders

$ETH on Binance: $2,393 (23:24 KST), -0.65% 24h, 24h range $2,360โ€“$2,418, ~$739M spot volume on ETH/USDT.

My take: a delay is annoying for the roadmap, but catching contract-breaking edge cases on a testnet beats finding them on mainnet.
Bull case: a careful fix restores confidence and the scaling upgrade lands cleanly.
Bear case: a longer slip weighs on the L1 scaling narrative while ETH sits near support.

Does a slower, safer upgrade change how you view ETH?

Not financial advice. DYOR.
