An Agent That Pays Its Own Compute Bill 🔄
$FET sold the agent economy as a thesis and $BNKR assembled the unglamorous parts that make one agent actually survive a month.
The loop is short enough to say in one breath. An agent launches a token, the trading generates fees, the fees pay for inference through the gateway, and the agent keeps running without anyone topping it up.
Each piece of that already existed separately. Having them connected is what is new.
The reason it matters is that every autonomous agent demo in the last two years had the same hidden dependency. Somebody was paying the model bill. Remove that person and the agent stops mid sentence, which makes the autonomy a costume rather than a property.
An agent with its own revenue line is autonomous in the only sense that counts. It can continue without permission.
Keep the limits in view. Fees come from volume, and an agent nobody trades around earns nothing. Inference costs are real and continuous. And an agent that can pay its own bills has no obligation to be useful, which is a different problem entirely.
But self funding is the threshold the whole category has been describing and mostly not reaching. Watching one cross it is more interesting than another roadmap.
