Coinbase and Thunes have announced a partnership connecting stablecoin payment infrastructure with local bank and mobile-wallet payouts. #Coinbase will provide stablecoin infrastructure for Thunes, while Coinbase plans to integrate Thunes’ Direct Global Network to extend access to domestic payment systems across more countries and currencies.
Thunes says its existing network supports payments in more than 140 countries and over 90 currencies. The companies identified supplier payments, gig-worker payouts and international remittances as intended uses. This is an infrastructure agreement, not confirmation that every payout corridor is live through the new integration.
Coinbase already supports $USDC , but the announcement does not specify which stablecoins will be used in this partnership or provide a complete rollout timetable.
