Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin said the ideal way to support everyone’s cryptography is through EIP-8288: users can generate any signature scheme locally, prove it with a STARK, and have it included via a stark aggregator, without putting calldata on-chain. This would allow Ethereum to never add a new precompile again.

He added that Lattice schemes could still be supported via precompiles for accounts and wallets if proven AI-secure.
