$UNI Price: $7.333 | 24h: -0.313% | S: $7.099 | R: $7.563
Uniswap's volatile pairs did over $500B in volume this year. Its new fee hook targets that flow, but how much reaches UNI?
VolatilePair launched on October 14 on Ethereum ETH/USDC, aiming to retain more arbitrage value for liquidity providers through dynamic fees. UNI governs fees and treasury spending; it does not give holders an automatic cash payout. Where protocol fees are enabled, fee assets are exchanged for UNI that is burned. The new pool's fee setting and attributable burns were not independently verified here.
Dilution: docs report no active minting, but governance can authorize up to 2% annual supply expansion. Treasury distributions can increase tradable float without minting. Current float and the next distribution remain unverified.
Competition: PancakeSwap Infinity also charges more on larger arbitrage trades. Compare LP returns after losses, traders' total execution costs and liquidity retention, rather than treating dynamic fees as an exclusive moat.

My take: A better pool can protect Uniswap's liquidity base. The UNI case needs competitive execution, lasting LP returns and incremental burns weighed against new issuance.
