I mean.....

There is something a bit peculiar here. As BTC was trending downward, many "late" short traders likely assumed the price would fall even further. However, the market does not always behave as everyone expects—a fact clearly demonstrated by today’s price movement

It was already anticipated that these late short positions were at risk of being "squeezed." The price has now rebounded by approximately 3.5% from its recent lows. This is a significant move; for those who opened short positions near the bottom, the situation has shifted rapidly.

But I want to pause here.

Just because the price has risen by 3.5%, it does not necessarily mean the market has turned bullish. A "short squeeze" and a genuine trend reversal are not the same thing. In a short squeeze, prices often rise rapidly as short positions are forcibly closed. The real question is whether new buyers can sustain the market once that initial buying pressure subsides.

And it seems BTC is currently at exactly that juncture.

The $84.4K level has become quite critical.

Successfully reclaiming this level could provide an opportunity to break the bearish market structure, at which point we could observe whether momentum is shifting back in favor of the buyers. However, a mere "wick" extending above this level would not constitute confirmation; we need to see if the price can actually hold that position. Conversely, if BTC fails to reclaim $84.4K, the possibility of retesting lower levels cannot be ruled out. There is a psychological element at play here: when the price rises sharply, those who previously held short positions might hesitate before entering new ones. Meanwhile, those who opened long positions near the lows might interpret this bounce as a sign that the worst is over.

Yet, both assumptions could prove to be incorrect.

Markets often reach a phase where observers begin to construct their own narratives based on price action. Some might interpret a short squeeze as a bullish reversal, while others might view it as an opportunity for a "lower high" to form—even though the chart itself has not yet confirmed a definitive direction. This is why the reaction at the $84.4K level is significant to me. It’s not just about how much the price has risen; what matters more is the strength buyers can sustain following this recovery. I am also keeping an eye on another factor: previous "unswept" lows have now been taken out, and observations suggest that a large portion of the remaining liquidity is currently positioned above the price. Given this setup, there is a case for continued upward movement—so, I am leaning slightly more toward the possibility of further gains. However, I wouldn't classify this as a definitive bullish signal. The presence of liquidity above the price doesn't guarantee that the price will move toward it; the market could easily head in the opposite direction, especially if it fails to reclaim key resistance levels.

Right now, my focus is primarily on two scenarios:

* Reclaiming $84.4K: This would indicate that the bearish structure is weakening and that buyers are successfully maintaining their momentum.

* Failure to reclaim: If the attempt fails, we must consider the possibility of another retest of the previous lows.

What I find most interesting at this moment is that, even after the liquidity sweep below, BTC still needs to reclaim a critical structural level. In other words, while the pressure from sellers has eased, the buyers' work is not yet complete.

I don’t want to jump to conclusions just yet. While an upward continuation is possible, it’s difficult to label this recovery as a full-blown trend reversal until we see the price establish itself firmly above $84.4K.

Ultimately, the question is simple: Is control of BTC truly shifting back to the buyers, or will the market retest the downside following this short squeeze?

Both possibilities remain on the table. The next move will likely provide a clearer picture.
