Prosecutors said three of the five remaining defendants in the case involving former NBA guard Malik Beasley plan to plead guilty; two have not accepted plea agreements. According to Odaily, the case concerns alleged betting on Beasley’s personal statistics while he played for the Milwaukee Bucks.

Beasley’s lawyer said he does not currently intend to plead guilty and is reviewing evidence and possible defenses. Former NBA player Ed Davis also attended the hearing. Co-defendant William Brown has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud.

Prosecutors allege Beasley and Davis agreed to alter Beasley’s personal statistics in four games to reduce gambling debts, while other defendants used the information to place bets worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. The trial is tentatively scheduled to begin on May 17, 2027.
