Minutes 0–3: Create the account

Minute 3: Confirm the referral code

On the referral step, check that the field shows BNBEN with a green tick and "Linked". If it's empty, type BNBEN. Do not tap Skip. According to Binance's help center, a linked referral code cannot be modified, and there is no standard way to add one later.

Minutes 4–10: Verify your identity

  1. Tap Verify Now in the app, or go to Account > Identification on the website.

  2. Select your country and document type.

  3. Upload clear photos of the front and back of your ID, with all four corners visible.

  4. Complete the face (liveness) check in good light, without glasses, a hat, or filters.

  5. Confirm your details. They must match your ID exactly and cannot be edited afterwards.

Rejected? The most common causes are a blurry or cropped ID photo, a name that does not match your ID exactly, an expired document, or poor lighting in the face check. Fix the cause and resubmit with new photos.

Your first hour after opening a Binance account

  1. Turn on 2FA. Add an authenticator app or a passkey, and write down the authenticator setup key on paper.

  2. Set an anti-phishing code, so you can tell real Binance emails from fake ones.

  3. Turn on BNB fee payment. When you hold a little BNB, spot fees drop by 25%, and the BNBEN discount comes on top.

  4. Learn the wallets. Funding is where P2P and card purchases usually arrive. Spot is where you trade. Transfers between them are free.
