$DOT is up 2.69% on the week at $1.26, and the only news in its feed that can move money is a stablecoin.

Polkadot's own account says dotUSD is now live on the network. their pitch is that a few issuers control most of the 250 billion dollars in stablecoins and decide who can hold them. that's the project's claim, not something i verified, but it's the right pitch for a chain that sells itself on not asking permission.

The rest of the feed is soft. a devnet build with better contact search and new coin images, plus a protocol engineering course at a university in Argentina. nice, but none of that is demand. dotUSD is the one item that can put actual dollars on the chain.

$DOT trades at $1.26 right now, inside a 24h range of $1.22 to $1.28. if it holds $1.22, i think the dotUSD story gets priced in slowly and $1.28 breaks. if it loses $1.22, i'm wrong on this and there's nothing to defend. anyone already long just ate a dip for a launch the market ignored.

Holding $1.22 or losing it?
