Ledger confirmed that at least one device sold through Southeast Asian reseller CryptoBilis contained an unauthorized hardware implant. On-chain trackers estimate losses near $90–93 million across hundreds of wallets on multiple chains. Ledger ordered CryptoBilis to halt sales and advised recent buyers to avoid initializing devices or to move assets to new wallets with fresh recovery phrases. Tether froze approximately $10 million in USDT across linked addresses. Attackers appear to have shifted some proceeds into USDD to evade further freezes. Hardware-wallet supply-chain risk remains real; physical integrity checks and careful sourcing matter as much as software security.
