Most traders spend Sunday scrolling charts and doom-checking prices. The ones who last use it to set up the week before the market starts pulling on their emotions.
Crypto never closes, so thereโs no natural โreset.โ You have to build one. Hereโs a simple routine that takes about 15 minutes.
1. Review Last Weekโs Trades (5 minutes)
Open your journal or exchange history and look at every trade you took. For each one, ask:
Did I follow my plan?
Was my position size and risk what I intended?
Did I enter because of a setup, or because of FOMO?
Youโre not grading profit and loss here. A losing trade that followed your rules is a good trade. A winning trade that broke your rules is a bad habit that got lucky.
2. Find Your One Repeating Mistake
Most traders donโt have ten problems. They have one or two that show up again and again: moving stops, oversizing after a win, chasing candles, trading while tired.
Name your biggest one this week and write a single rule to counter it. For example, โNo new trades after two losses in a day.โ
3. Mark the Key Levels
Zoom out and mark the major support and resistance zones on the assets you actually trade. Use higher timeframes like daily and weekly, since they carry more weight than the noise on the 5-minute chart.
Fewer, clearer levels beat a chart covered in lines.
4. Check the Weekโs Calendar
Scheduled events can move the whole market. Note any major economic data releases, central bank announcements, token unlocks or protocol upgrades for the assets you hold. Plan to reduce size or stay flat around the biggest ones rather than being surprised by them.
5. Set Your Weekly Risk Budget
Decide in advance:
The maximum youโre willing to lose this week (for example, 3-5% of your portfolio)
The maximum risk per trade (many traders use 1-2%)
The point where you stop trading and take the rest of the week off
When the budget is hit, youโre done. This one rule protects you from the revenge-trading spiral that destroys accounts.
The Bottom Line
You canโt control the market, but you can control your preparation. A calm, written plan made on Sunday is worth more than a hundred impulsive decisions made on a Wednesday-night pump.
Small habits, repeated weekly, are what separate traders who survive from those who burn out.
